Hello! Everyone, two days ago I made the decision to replace Windows vista on my Laptop Acer Extensa 5630-6906.
I tried the new version of Xandros 4.5, it did load up
no wire less devices
on line it would not download, keep freezing up.

I downloaded Mandriva,Fedora10 and Ubuntu 8.10
Decided for Ubuntu, to my surprize every component on my laptop worked from firs start up exept for the build in camera.
Graphic are good
wireless internet works good
blue tooth works
USB modem works good
Cd burns, reads data and video
no build in camera yet
only reads 2.32 on hard drive it should read 2.5 could be my error?
I am still learning Ubuntu, but over all I am very happy.
Out of the windows web, Ubuntu appears to be very stable and has covered 99.9% of my system needs.
Thanks to Ubuntu people that made this possible for me.
To everybody else seeking for an alternative to Windows on newer desk or lap tops
make the change to Ubuntu.
It is worth
Thanks.
will post more as get better on Ubuntu.
