Installation

Needs external CD-ROM drive to boot, or get a 2.5" to 3.5" IDE adaptor and install the laptop hard drive in a spare desktop computer during installation.

Summary

  • Graphics: Work out of the box, and are configured correctly at 1024x768, and can be rotated by altering the "xorg.conf" file (needs to be tested further).
  • On-board WiFi: Configured correctly using ipw2100 driver, but doesn't detect any networks. Hardware could be faulty.
  • Stylus: Works perfectly, just had to install "wacom-tools" through Synaptic Package Manager and reboot. Text entry can be achieved using GOK (Gnome Onscreen Keyboard).
  • Keyboard Hotkeys: Simply open a terminal and type "sudo -s" and then "echo acerhk >> /etc/modules", close, and reboot.
