Notes
The A7SV uses the NVIDIA Geforce 8600M which needs the proprietary NVIDIA driver to function. This driver is included with some distributions but other you will need to install manually. For best results you should use a Linux distribution with at least kernel version 2.6.22. Ubuntu 7.10 is a good choice as it also includes the proprietary nvidia driver.
Summary
The Asus A7SV works just fine under Linux after the required NVIDIA driver is installed. A recent Linux distribution with at least kernel version 2.6.22 is recommended.Have you installed Linux on this laptop? If so how about leaving a comment about your success in the comments section below.
