Notes

For the audio in the Asus U5F to work you need to install ALSA version 1.0.14rc1 or greater. No Linux distribution currently provides this version of ALSA so you will need to compile it manually. You will also need to add the following line to your /etc/modprobe.conf (or your Linux distribution's equivalent) file:
options snd-hda-intel model=laptop-eapd

Summary

The major issue with the Asus U5F is with the configuration of the audio system. All the other features work well and with future Linux distributions the audio shouldn't be a problem either.
