Notes

The Geforce 8600M included with the Asus V2S is not supported by the open source Xorg driver so you will need to use the proprietary NVIDIA driver for proper support. Some distributions, such as Ubuntu 7.10, include this driver which makes installation easier.

For sound to work you will need to add the following line to your /etc/modprobe.conf (or your distributions equivalent) file:
options snd-hda-intel model=lenovo

Summary

A little bit of configuration work is require for the Asus A2S to function properly with Linux but after this is done the A2S works just fine.

WiFi Kill switches

if your wlan is not working or the adapter suddenly disappears, try activating BOTH kill switches :) one Hardware switch on the front and the Software switch Fn+F2.

dmesg gives you something like thatt:
