Notes

The Broadcom BCL4306 wireless controller included in the Presario R4000 notebook does not have any native drivers for Linux. Because of this you will need to use the ndiswrapper driver for the Broadcom controller to function. For further instructions you can view our Configuring the ndiswrapper driver guide. The windows driver to use are available here.

Summary

The major issue with the HP-Compaq Presario R4000 is with the Broadcom wireless card. This issue makes the Linux installation more difficult than normal.
