Notes

The are several different models of this laptop with two types of wireless network cards, the Intel 3945 and the Broadcom 4311. The laptop tested here included the Intel 3945 which works fine with the ipw3945 module. The Broadcom 4311 requires the usage of the ndiswrapper module which should work with this file, but this has not been tested.

Broadcom 4311 card (by Dino Krtanjek <> krtanjekdino@gmail.com)

If you have the Broadcom 4311 wireless card in your nx6310 you need the ndiswrapper tool so you can use the Windows XP driver posted above. The card then works fine. I have tested this on PCLinuxOS 2007 with ndiswrapper version 1.41.

Summary

When equipped with the Intel 3945 this laptop works very well under Linux. The Broadcom 4311 is at least a little tricker to install and may not work at all. For best results you probably should choose a distribution which comes with kernel 2.6.15 or greater.
