Notes

Graphics

The NVIDIA graphics chip in the Satellite X200 needs the proprietary NVIDIA drivers to function properly. You can see the guides section on this site for installation details.

Wireless

Wireless works with the iwl4965 driver. Most Linux distributions now include this driver as standard so you shouldn't have a hard time with this.

Sound

For sound to work properly (depending on your distribution) you may needs to upgrade your version of ALSA. See the guides section on this site for details.

You may also need to add the following line to your /etc/modprobe.conf (or your Linux distributions equivalent) file:
options snd-hda-intel model=toshiba

Summary

There is some amount of configuration work required to get the graphics and sound working properly with the Toshiba Satellite X200. However after this the hardware in the X200 works just fine with Linux.

If you are looking to purchase this laptop you can visit Toshiba's Satellite page.
