I've surfed around a bit but can't find anything much about getting the ethernet to work with Debian Lenny on the HP Mini 5102 I guess it's still early days.
===== Kubuntu 10.04 =====
Kubuntu 10.04 Netbook remix installed from USB memory stick just fine.
===== openSuse 11.2 =====
Boot of openSUSE-11.2-NET-i586.iso hangs on "Starting udev..." message. This can be fixed by disabling "Enable WLAN device" option in BIOS.
However, the ethernet controller does not work with current openSUSE and Ubuntu Netbook Remix (as of 27.4.2010).
The only system that works out of the box is preinstalled SUSE Enterprise.
===== Ubuntu 10.04 =====
Everything works after I turned them on with Windows using HP tools. 3G modem requires firmware files from HP, gobi_loader and some patched kernel modules due to bug in 10.04 default kernel.
