I have the 7741G i5-450 running without problem with 'out of the box' ubuntu 10.10 amd64 version (as recommended on the ubuntu website for intel i5 !!). WiFi works ok No problems found so far. Overall seems much quicker in operation than running the pre-installed Windows 7 OS. I've setup to dual boot either OS.

I use Slackware64 13.1 and all the hardware works out of the box. I use it since 4 days and im happy with it.
one hint: to use the ethernet card you have to unload the tg3 module, load the broadcom module and reload the tg3 again.
