I tried the Acer D260 with Fedora 14 (Alpha release) today, by first creating a USB stick version of the KDE installation ISO image and then installing that. The installation went without problems, and network, graphics and sound work as expected.
Discussion
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and 10.10 were fine on this hardware, sadly Ubuntu 11.04 has resulted in the network being non-functional. lspci no longer shows present network/ethernet hardware and even BIOS 'boot from LAN' does not result in link lights being active.
Tried updating BIOS from 1.01 to V3.15 (Release Date:06/07/2011) to fix this, this has not helped with the network situation.
I believe the atheros(sp?) LAN hardware is a known low quality piece of hardware which has had problems with linux before. Going back to an older kernel via grub menu seemed to make the network ok for a little while but it got clobbered again after a couple suspend/resume cycles.
I found Ubuntu has worked fine with the Acer Aspire One D260 (since 10.04 at least as this was the first version I installed). The only exception being the Card Reader which has only worked since Ubuntu 11.04.
The only requirements for installation from a Ubuntu CD (apart from an external USB CD Drive) is a wired internet connection in order to get the drivers to get the wireless functional.
My only issues are the resolution of the screen which often leaves 'ok' and 'cancel' buttons off screen during installation process

I have a problem with the mic and webcam.
The mic does not work unless I use alsa mixer but I have a problem with it being fuzzy. The webcam is glitchy and only works with some programs.
Later on I'm going to install Fedora 13 on my acer aspire one d260, and posting this as a reminder for myself to post an update as the result of the install.
