This is a guide to running Linux with the Acer Extensa 4220 laptop.
This guide is intended to provide you details on how well this laptop works with Linux and which modules you need to configure. For details on how to actually install and configure the required modules have a look at our guides section for distribution specific instructions.
Tried installing SUSE 10. Needed external DVD and HDD to do so. Internal controller for both not recognised. Works as far as tested with external drives. Screen resolution Difficult to set.
(Open)Suse 11.0 installed OK from “Linux Format” disk. Work better with YAST to set screen up.
So far I would say a reasonably up-to-date Distirbution has a fair chance of working., however I'm not sure if I will be able to get my Kylix Application working.
