The ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 is supported by both the open source radeon module and ATI's proprietary fglrx module. For installation details follow our Configuring an ATI graphics chip howto. The proprietary module is required for 3D support.
The Asus A3G works well when using a modern Linux distribution. No issues occured during installation.
