This is a guide to running Linux with the Asus A4K laptop. The wireless controller does not have native Linux drivers which makes installation of this laptop trickier than normal. Some moderate Linux experience is required.

For the ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 you can use the radeon driver included with Xorg or ATI's proprietary fglrx module. View the Configuring an ATI graphics chip guide for more details. 3D support is only available with the proprietary module.
This SIS USB wireless controller in the Asus A4K does not have any native drivers for Linux. This can be solved by using thendiswrapper module, with installation instructions available here. The windows driver is available here.
The major issue with the Asus A4K is the configuration of the SIS wireless system. Apart from that there were no other issues in getting the laptop working.
