This guide is intended to provide you details on how well this laptop works with Linux and which modules you need to configure. For details on how to actually install and configure the required modules have a look at our guides section for distribution specific instructions.
The NVidia GeForce Go7600 chip can function either with the 'nv' driver included with Xorg or the proprietary module from NVIDIA.You can view our Configuring a nVidia graphics chip installation guide for further details.
The ethernet port on the Asus A6Jm is supported by the r1000 driver. This is a proprietary module so is not included with most Linux distributions. You can fetch this driver from here. When kernel version 2.6.19 is release it should have built in support for the ethernet port so no extra installation will be required.
