The NVIDIA GeForce FX Go7300 can work with both the open source 'nv' module as well as NVIDIA's proprietary module. You may find our Configuring a nVidia graphics chip installation guide useful. 3D support is only available with the NVIDIA driver.
The Asus A8Jc has no issues at all with Linux. Its setup is a breeze without much configuration work at all.
