I have an ASUS X82Q (which according to the support forum is a rebadged F80q). Ubuntu 9.04 installs out of the box. The internal mike doesn't work from a vanilla install - but this is only an issue if you intend to use VOIP. (I haven't found a workaround yet).
Installing Ubuntu will kill Expressgate, but there is a fix. It involves creating a partition for expressgate, using wine to install ExpressGate from recovery CD then copying files into partition) <a href='http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1049170>Detailed instructions here</a>

The mike works too - but by default the recording levels are very low. Raise them and all is well.

Hi'a! Well….everything really works out of the box but only except wireless network(with Ubuntu 8.10), i'm still trying to solve this problem . In summary this lap is a great choice if you are going to run Linux OS on it.
