Running with suse linux 12.1 64bit with german language. The ASUS K53U is a priceworthy system, using as a outdorr office. I don't have any problems with Linux. Suspend modus is working fine. Even the linux update service tumbleweed!

Running with Ubuntu 10.10. The only available display option was 1024×768, which meant the display got stretched and distorted to fit the 1366×768 screen. Downloading and applying the ASUS video driver (ati-driver-installer-11-12-x86.x86_64.run) corrected this.
I had problems with suspend as well. In fact, after applying the 350MB of outstanding updates (which I didn't do during initial installation), the machine wouldn't boot at all. I've done a fresh install, applying the updates during the install (and applying the video driver immediately afterwards), and so far everything is working OK.
In addition to the entries on the compatibility chart, you can add “works” to the card reader line. (I tested it with a 2GB SD card, I don't have any SDHC cards to try.)

Running with Ubuntu 11.10 64bit. Suspend works but will not wake up. Have tried various suggested fixes and scripts without success.
