- Wireless: Debian user should install package firmware-atheros in order to have wireless working - Touchpad: Debian and Debian based distros's users should install this package to get touchpad well recognized (not needed anymore for linux 3.2.0 and above): http://packages.kirya.net/debian/pool/main/p/psmouse-elantech/psmouse-elantech-dkms_0.1-1_all.deb (not necessary on Ubuntu Oneiric)
Debian squeeze user (depreciated with linux 3.2.0 or above) have to install manually the realtek driver rts5139 in order to have card reader working. It can be doanloaded here: http://ubuntuone.com/p/153B/ then extract the archive and do as an user: make then as root: make install depmod And then reboot.
- graphic: Thanks to Bumblebee 3.0, one can start applications directly from desktop choosing wether they should be using the integrated intel graphic or the nvidia one. see here for installation: http://bumblebee-project.org/install.html

I see. Fedora is supposed to be quite “free” - ie no proprietary or less free software that might make these things work. Or perhaps they are better tuned to notebooks. I will be installing CrunchBang Linux soon, which is based off of Debian, and see what my experiences are like then.
