This is a guide to running Linux with the Asus M2N laptop. This is a good low cost laptop which has excellent Linux support.
This guide is intended to provide you details on how well this laptop works with Linux and which modules you need to configure. For details on how to actually install and configure the required modules have a look at our guides section for distribution specific instructions.
Although this has yet to be tested, the modem may work with the Linuxant hsf driver. With newer kernels (starting 2.6.19 or 2.6.20) you need “nolapic pci=biosirq pci=assign-busses” (at least for BIOS 0208).
