This is a guide to running Linux with the Asus M6Ne laptop, model ASM6805N. This is a slightly updated version of the Asus M6N with better graphics and wireless. Like the M6N, the M6Ne needs the latest BIOS version available to function properly.

The graphics chip will work with either the open source radeon module or with the proprietary ATI module. For installation instructions, you can view our Configuring an ATI graphics chip guide. For 3D support, you will need the proprietary module.
For ACPI to function properly, you will need to upgrade the BIOS to the latest available version. There are many ACPI issues with the older BIOS versions.
After updating the BIOS, the Asus M6Ne works very well with Linux. The hardware in this laptop is supported well with Linux without any installation difficulties.
