Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic is tested and fully working on the ASUS M70VM-X1 with a couple exceptions.
* The dual-mode touch pad does not work, as there are no drivers.
* The built in sub-woofer does not work.
* For wireless to work properly you must run the following command:
sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-jaunty

I still have the problem with the sub on the bottom does not work with pulse or alsa..
Otherwise, VERY solid build.
Ive got the same request, a walkthrough on fixing the subwoofer channel.
I would think, that (just a hunch) the solution would be a dmix slave as software processing, splitting the bands into center/stereo and woofer channels..
But i havent made a successful attempt yet - so any experiences on this topic is appreciated! (tagging this thread in my cloud :)
hdmi audio is either a pain in the ass to get going, or does not work
touchpad media keys do not work as far as i know
other than that, it works great with ubuntu 8.10

I use this notebook with 64Bit Ubuntu 8.10. The only Problem I have is that my notebook has a subwoofer and two little boxes and only the boxes works. Does anybody know how i can use the mini - subwoofer?
