Notes

I have tested with FC9 and Ubuntu hardy without a need to configure anything, everything works out of the box, the only thing I haven't tested is the modem.

With Debian Lenny you only need to install the driver for the wireless card and restart the network service.

Summary

The Asus U6E works just fine with Linux with little manual configuration work required.
