Introduction

This is a guide to running Linux with the Asus V1J laptop. The V1J is a fairly good laptop with a nice set of specifications. Its Linux support is also very good.

Notes

The graphics chip in the Asus V1J use either the Xorg radeon driver or ATI's proprietary fglrx module. For installation instructions, you can view our Configuring an ATI graphics chip guide. For 3D support, you will need the proprietary module.

Summary

The Asus V1J is well suited for use under Linux. Recent Linux distributions should have no problem at all being installed on the V1J.
