This is a guide to running Linux with the Fujitsu Amilo 7400M laptop. The 7400M laptop was tested with SuSE Linux 9.3 to 11.1.
This guide is intended to provide you details on how well this laptop works with Linux and which modules you need to configure. For details on how to actually install and configure the required modules have a look at our guides section for distribution specific instructions.
There were no problems in getting the Fujitsu Amilo 7400M laptop working when used with an up to date Linux distribution up to and including the 2.6.27 kernel. Linux distributions with kernels > 2.6.27 may have difficulty with this laptop's graphics. In some cases with such newer kernels a boot using the intel graphic driver is only possible with apci=off boot code. Else it is necessary to use FBDEV or VESA graphic driver.
