This is a compatibility guide to running Linux with the Fujitsu Amilo Xa3530 laptop.
This page is just for discussing using Linux on the Fujitsu Amilo Xa3530. For a general discussion about this laptop you can visit the Fujitsu Amilo Xa3530 page on LapWik.
The system runs quite well and stable, even emulation of a virtual W2k8-server runs without problem (except its being slooow!). An external display used to work, but as of the current version I didn't get hold of a driver or an xorg.conf-sample (but didn't really try very hard).
Both Fedora 11 and Ubuntu 9.10 on my XA3530 work, but they have two problems I was unable to solve: a minor with changing between the two graphics cards and a major with the system heating up to 85+ C. I don't know if it's the processor or the GPU that heats. It isn't about lacking the ability to scale the frequency.
I installed Ubuntu Karmic Koala into Fujitsu Amilo PI 3560 laptop to dual boot with Win7. Works like a charm. I felt bad when I had to give the laptop to my brother. Didn't have the time to test it thoroughly.

Hi
I have this computer, just installed Ubuntu 10.4 on it!
Pros and cons so far:
Cons:
-Didnt find my Windows 7 so it deleted my Master Boot Record, now i cant start Windows 7 yet..
-This laptop has the famous “Launch Manager” for the wireless unit, i cant figure out how to turn the damn card ON in ubuntu :P because in windows you need the manager i just mentioned.
Pros:
-Ubuntu found the ATI driver!
-If you download Windows Wireless Drivers, you can install atleast the original win-driver for your wlan card.
-Seems pretty sweet on this machine, if it all works!
-It reads battery power well, machine settings, hardware and so on very well.
-Recommend trying, but have som patients if you do! have internet on CABLE ready!
I am currently using startup manager in ubuntu to fix my bootproblem.
ty all!
