This is a guide to running Linux with the Fujitsu Lifebook E8020 laptop, model LBE8020-AA279E0B1. This laptop works really well with Linux, even the 56k modem works without the need of paying for the Linuxant module.
This guide is intended to provide you details on how well this laptop works with Linux and which modules you need to configure. For details on how to actually install and configure the required modules have a look at our guides section for distribution specific instructions.
This laptop supports both the open source radeon module and the proprietary ATI module. The proprietary module would probably give you the best 3D performance.
Discussion
I've installed Ubuntu (at the moment 9.04 aka intrepid) and all works really well.
All hardware incl. the extra buttons from scratch.
I'm sorry, but I made a mistake. 9.04 is jaunty jackalope.
