This is a guide to running Linux with the Fujitsu Lifebook P1610 laptop. The P1610 is an extremely small size and light laptop which features excellent Linux support.
This guide is intended to provide you details on how well this laptop works with Linux and which modules you need to configure. For details on how to actually install and configure the required modules have a look at our guides section for distribution specific instructions.
As default the native screen resolution of the Lifebook P1610 is 1280×768, however due to the way the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 functions this resolution would not be usable right away. To get it working you will need to install the 915resolution program and type in: 915resolution 3c 1280 768 This will then allow you to use the native 1280×768 resolution. However this setting will be forgotten after each boot so you will need a way to automatically run this command at every boot. Fortunately most Linux distributions come with the 915resolution program and include a simple way of achieving this. You can view our Configuring the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 & 950 guide for more information.
I installed xserver-xorg-input-fujitouch driver for ubuntu as you said but this does not work out of the box at all… :(
I tried to figure out the meaning of the next part, but I can't, specially to to config HAL to add (FUJ02e6)…
I think I can do the rest.
Can you help me, please ?

I just got the touchscreen on my fujitsu P1610 working with the latest release of ubuntu (karmic koala). I did some searching around and found two drivers - an X11 driver and a hacked perl driver.
Lots of people had used the perl driver, but I felt that the X11 driver was more principled. Also, the perl driver appeared to need the X11 development libraries, which I had not installed since this was a dual-boot laptop and I didn't want to install unnecessary packages.
After some digging around, I found a package with the serial touchscreen X11 driver in ubuntu (xserver-xorg-input-fujitouch). I then had to search for the correct version for _my_ version of ubuntu and found it here (https://launchpad.net/~fujitouch). There is also a precompiled version for jaunty if you search around.
I followed the instructions to add the location to my list of repositories, installed the package and restarted X.
The touchscreen was autodetected by hal and worked right out of the box.

Tres cool.

Touch screen does work on Intrepid and it seems like it will work on Jaunty, too. Details have been posted to Ubuntu users group on LinkedIn.

Mandriva 2008
Mandriva 2008 Powerpack installs without issue including the KDE 3D desktop.
Battery life and performance is better than it was under Vista.
Just looking into getting the modem working.

touch screen doesn't work
The touch screen does not work! I have looked at what people are calling drivers and they don't work and look out of date!
