This is a guide to running Linux with the Fujitsu Lifebook S2110 laptop. Fujitsu with the Lifebook S2110 have released one of the very few small size laptops with an AMD processor inside. Better still is that unlike many AMD laptops Linux support is excellent.
This guide is intended to provide you details on how well this laptop works with Linux and which modules you need to configure. For details on how to actually install and configure the required modules have a look at our guides section for distribution specific instructions.
It is a very rare combination to have a small size laptop with an AMD processor and with excellent Linux support but that is what the Fujitsu Lifebook S2110 provides. Installation was a painless process.

I have been using an S2110 for several years now, and it works just fine with basically all of the latest Linux distributions. I currently have it set to multi-boot the following:
All of these installed essentially out-of-the-box, no special manipulations necessary. I did not have to use the madwifi drivers on any of them, they all recognized and enabled the Atheros wifi adapter without problem. The ATI display controller works with either the Xorg “ati” driver, or the proprietary “fglrx” driver.
I'm very pleased with this laptop.
