This is a guide to running Linux with the HP Pavilion dv2700t laptop.
This guide is intended to provide you details on how well this laptop works with Linux and which modules you need to configure. For details on how to actually install and configure the required modules have a look at our guides section for distribution specific instructions.
The standard graphic controller for the HP Pavilion dv2700t is the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100. This is supported by all up to date Linux distributions.
Other versions of the dv2700t come with the NVIDIA GeForce 8400M which will require the proprietary NVIDIA module to function fully.
The Intel based wireless controller works just fine with this laptop. The dv2700t may also be ordered with a non-Intel wireless controller. No information is available about this (probably Broadcom based) option and should be avoided.
