To fix the audio issue, add this to your alsa options (usually something like /etc/modules.d/alsa)
options snd-hda-intel enable=1 enable_msi=1 single_cmd=0 power_save_controller=0 power_save=0
The HP Pavilion dv7-1200 works just fine with Linux with the above tweak for the sound.
Discussion
What about bluetooth on dv7-1215er? I have a problem.
Mandriva 2009.1 spring can't finde bluetooth module.
Somebody know how to fix this?

(the enable_msi=1 is the one that fixes this)
Try adding “pci=noacpi” in your boot options. Look here for further info.

everything seems to work exept for the audio drivers, i'm getting sound but its a wear sound like in windows 98 when my computer got stuck in a game:-). webcam and rest of hardware working like a charm.
