This is a guide to running Linux with the HP Pavilion dv9560eg laptop. Thanks to Hans-Joachim Klein for this guide. This laptop was tested in Fedora 8.
This guide is intended to provide you details on how well this laptop works with Linux and which modules you need to configure. For details on how to actually install and configure the required modules have a look at our guides section for distribution specific instructions.

In my case the live time increased from 2:20h to 3:10h (internet and office). CPU-temperature around 40°C Install laptop-mode tools from http://samwel.tk/laptop_mode/ Configure laptop-mode to fit your needs. Download the attached files (see top right of this page) and change them to fit your needs.
Copy the “batteriebetrieb” file to /usr/local/sbin/ Copy the “local.start” file to /etc/init.d/ Copy the “default.sh” file to /etc/acpi/ (remove the .txt from filename)
Remark: “batteriebetrieb” means battery mode and “netzbetrieb” means wall-power
Set the following symbolic link: “netzbetrieb” points to “batteriebetrieb” in /usr/local/sbin
