The screen in the Presario V3000t uses a screen resolution of 1280×800. Linux has an issue in using this resolution until you use the 915resolution tool. You can view this guide for more details on the 915resolution tool.
There were no major issues with running Linux on the HP-Compaq Presario V3000t laptop. There is only some minor configuration work required.
