The Broadcom drivers are currently required for the wireless to work which involves compiling and installing the drivers.
Some technical knowledge is required for the Lenovo G550 to work properly with Linux due to the wireless controller.
Discussion
Changing the change resolution of NVIDIA GeForce G 105M of Lenovo G450 laptop is easy by using this driver, http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_190.53.html. Note that this is a 32 bit, you can find also a 64 bit version there.
Everything works fine including bluetooth and wifi. Installation of wireless is bit tricky.

Only problem I am facing is that I am not able to change the screen resolution.
