1) Open up terminal 2) type sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf 3) Add the following line to the end of the document: blacklist acer_wmi 4) Press Ctrl+O, hit enter to save, then Ctrl+X to close 5) Make sure wifi switch is on and restart the computer

Fedora 13
Everything works well (bluetooth is a breeze!), except sound. The suggested addition to the modprobe file (/etc/modprobe.d/dist.conf on Fedora 13) works with some issues. Headphone jack detect does not work. Nor does the output port to headphones. Using model=lenovo fixes this, but you lose Microphone 2 (the 1/8” jack). Surround works provided you have an output sources with as many channels (DVD for example). It also helps to edit /etc/pulse/daemon.conf and adding the lines:
