This is a compatibility guide to running Linux with the Lenovo ThinkPad X201s laptop.
This page is just for discussing using Linux on the Lenovo ThinkPad X201s. For a general discussion about this laptop you can visit the Lenovo ThinkPad X201s page on LapWik.
My X201s has no webcam and I am not sure if this is actually an option on the X201s Don't forget to also check out x201s page at thinkwiki, Thinkwiki is a site dedicated to Linux on IBM/Lenovo laptops http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:X201s
My X201s works fine with a default fedora 14 X86_64 install. There are a few things I haven't tested yet but both the wired and wireless networking worked from the beginning and the install went fine. The display works in it's native resolution (1440×900) and was detected properly. The hot keys for volume, display brightness etc work fine with KDE.
Suspend to RAM (and resume..) works fine as does Suspend to Disk (hibernate)
With the 9 cell battery, the runtime is well over 9 Hours of real work and CPU speed control, cooling fan etc all work as expected.
