This should be a fantastic ultraportable for Linux. Unfortunately it is not, at this time, because wireless networking does not connect. It has a Broadcom 4313 adapter, which works perfectly with the brcmsmac driver in various other netbooks I have, but in this system it will not connect. I have tried everything I know, with a variety of Linux distributions (openSuSE 12.1, Fedora 16, Ubuntu 11.10, SimplyMEPIS 11), with absolutely no success.
Not only does the wireless networking fail to connect, but after any attempt to do so the system then intermittently hangs for a minute or two at a time, and shutdown either hangs completely or takes 10 minutes to complete. This is very unfortunate, because if the WiFi worked this would be the best netbook/notebook I have ever used with Linux.

I found that the problem is with the wifi card itself. It is not driver or software related as I had this same problem on windows 7, debian squeeze, ubuntu 10.04, linux mint and ubuntu 12.04
The only way to repair this is by replacing the internal wifi card, it is really a simple process, you only need to be careful. You can put the wifi card from a laptop you never use or you could be a new one (like the Intel 6230) after replacing it, my netbook now works flawlessly
any solution to this, I have the same problem with mi gentoo…. broadcom-sta, b43 and brcmsmac failed..

I eventually replaced the network card with an Intel 1000 B/G/N 300MB/s WiFi card (15 euro).
This works, but it turns out the Bluetooth is missing. Seems to be integrated on the original WiFi card…

Thanks for this! I tried it as described and it worked, however, the speed was terrible. The WiFi card connected at full speed, but throughput was < 100kB/s. Using an external WiFi card I got the normal speed > 3MB/s.
Also, my issue is not that the card is not working at all, but it looses connection when the laptop is connected to the adapter. No problems on battery

WiFi works after update in Fedora 16, but my problem is a graphic card. The NB works on maximum, when i try reinstall drivers, GNOME 3 doesn't work and NB goes almost crazy, when i looked at to the PowerTop I saw, that all my PCIs works on 100%

About the Wi-Fi adapter, have you tried the following way in Ubuntu:
Uninstall the 'Broadcom Sta' driver
Open the file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
Delete the line:
blacklist b43
Add these two lines at the end of the file:
blacklist bcma
blacklist brcmsmac
Save and exit
Type:
sudo apt-get remove –purge bcmwl-kernel-source
Reboot
Type:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source
Reboot
Select the 'Broadcom Sta' driver
