The dvd player runs choppy with Windows XP (too choppy to actually watch anything); on linux performance is greatly improved (i.e., no noticable performance problems).
I have tried to install Ubuntu 9.10 on this laptop. The keyboard will work about half of the time, and the touch pad will not work at all. The usb mouse I tried with it will work for about 20-30 minutes before freezing. Unplugging and replugging does not do anything. I have tried disabling support for legacy usb devices in the bios, with no result.
