Installation on Linux on the A55 was simple without any complications encountered at all.
The Toshiba Satellite A55 includes common components which makes it well suited to run Linux.
Discussion
I'm able to boot the official, pressed Ubuntu 9.04 Live CD on this laptop just fine, but since the DVD drive is failing, I'm having a lot of trouble booting a Mint 7 CD that I burned myself.
Booting this laptop to a USB drive seems all but impossible.
