This is a guide to running Linux with the Toshiba Satellite M45 laptop. The M45 is a fairly standard Centrino based laptop which features good Linux support.
This guide is intended to provide you details on how well this laptop works with Linux and which modules you need to configure. For details on how to actually install and configure the required modules have a look at our guides section for distribution specific instructions.
The default screen resolution of the Satellite M45 is 1280×800. Because of the way the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 works you will need to use the 915resolution utility to enable this resolution. You can view our Configuring the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 and 950 guide for more information on this.
The Toshiba Satellite M45 only required some quite minor configuration work before Linux supported it fully. This laptop has no problem at all with Linux.
