Notes

In Ubuntu 10.04 you need to add a PPA to get headphones working. Currently the default alsa modules work, but they don't mute the speakers when you plug in headphones.

This is what I had to do to get the headphones to mute the speakers.

1. upgrade alsa

2. Add this line of code “options snd-hda-intel model=olpc-xo-1_5” to ”/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf”
