Discussion
my bluetooth doesnt work i tried installing softwares and driver but it still doesnt work wat do i do?
A few months ago after an update the mic started working, however, sometimes the recordings are garbled and some white noise is audible. Might be the very poor build quality of the mic because when booting in windows it is the same.
Working with fedora core 16:
Disable Hybrid in Bios, use only the build in Intel graphics, safes al lot of power and unless you are a hardcore gamer, I would not recommend it anyway for everyday use.
Power:
The, install jupiter and powertop (rpmfusion) and configure both to your liking.
Add the line GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=“acpi=acer” (in /etc/default/grub).
Reboot. Now fn should work properly and backlight dimming will work.
Cardreader:To make the build in cardreader work download rts_pastor from Reaktek, read the README.txt, after each kernel update you have to repeat this step.
Wifi:
Install kmod-wl, after each kernel update wifi will work.
Sound:
Works out of box. If you have a windows dual boot, booting into windows, restart and the booting linux will result in…silence.
Shut windows off, power off, power on and boot in linux will restore sound.
However, despiye many attempts to make the internal mic working; no dice. Any help is welcome. The slider option as suggested using alsmixer will not work.
Camera, HDMI, USB 3/2,ETH all work.
Update FC17:
Now works with hybrid:
Install Bumblebee.
As from FC17 everything works out of the box, except the cardreader.
Still need to install manually.
Sound an mic working!
Got the Broadcom bluetooth and wifi card working:
get the Broadcom driver from Rpmfusion (wl) and install it. Reboot.
Press fn and F3. It works!
Sounds works.
Brightness with fn/smartkey not, sound does work, also volume settings.
Blurry is gone after update.
Did seem like a nice one! Bought one, but:
Booting Fedora 14 or 16 from bios with Live-usb difficult (only basic video), with Live-usb-cd succesfull.
No wireless networking, doesn't work out of the box, some blurry text with Gnome 3.0
Sound ok.
Camera ok.
Mic not working.
Put it back in it's box and will try a refund…
Note: Mine had a Broadcom wlan instead of an Intel!
Sound:
Working on 3.1 kernel at least if hibernate from Windows, seems like hardware issue (power of sound card control). One can also hear the sound if plug-unplug power supply for a half of a second, i mean playing music not the “beep”.
On Ubuntu 11.04 (64 bits) sound card is detected but does not work. Cannot adjust brightness and nvidia graphics card is “activated but not in use”.
