As long as you use a Linux distributions which uses kernel 3.5.0 or greater then the Acer Aspire 5749 will work just fine.

Running Mint 14 Cinnimon 64bit
Had serious wireless issues before replacing Mint 13 with 14. Works ok now, but signal not as strong as Win7 side by side.
I'm a touch typist, and use a mouse. Wireless mouse works fine, my problem is with the touchpad. My thumbs work the space bar and also randomly hit the touchpad with often unpredictable and always undesirable results.
I can't find a way to turn the damm thing off.
