completely agree with robert, im using ubuntu 12.04 LTS also absolutely 0 problems runs faster, cooler, and more battery life than windows 7 that was default with this laptop
at the moment im dual booting windows 7 for gaming and ubuntu for everything else with no problems

Looks like the model I have has a different wireless chip. (Atheros AR9287)

Laptop works flawless with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, so good that is was boring. I next installed opensuse 12.1. I loved this distro and everything works, EXCEPT the wireless networking. This laptop has the Broadcom BCM43227 wireless ethernet adapter where the os never saw it. I spent 2 days trying to get it operational, but no dice. Too bad………..

Finally got it work with openSUSE 12.1 See:

Just reboot after install!
