Notes

The proprietary fglrx driver doesn't appear to work properly on this laptop, the open-source drivers work just fine.

Summary

The Acer Aspire 5820 TimelineX works fairly well with Linux.

all works, except of the fglrx-driver. You have to use the oss-alternative (radeon, intel and switcheroo)
