For Mandriva users:

General hardware info:

Intel Core 2 Duo (T5800) (2.GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2M L2 cache)
Nvidia 9500G
3GB DDR2
16” HD Acer CineCrystal LCD (Full HD)
320 GB HDD
Blue-ray Disc
802.11 a/b/g/Draft-N WLAN

(more info lspci below)

General software env. info:

Kernel - 2.6.33.5-desktop-2mnb #1 SMP x86_64
Linux - Mandriva Linux release 2010.1 (Official) for x86_64
KDE 4.4.3
Skype (skype-2.1.0.47) 64 bit - working fine after fixing problem with sound card (look bellow)
Firefox 3.6.6
Thunderbird mozilla-thunderbird-3.0.5-1mdv2010.1
GCC 4.4.3
GCC C++ 4.4.3
Flash Adobe (64 experimental linux version working fine in Opera and Firefox)

(SOUND) How to fix problem with microphone:

To make SOUND working you will need to load a proper kernel module. This worked for me:

Put into /etc/modprod.conf following lines:

options snd-hda-intel model=acer-dmic
alias sound-slot-0 snd_hda_intel

Note: After loading of proper kernel module your microphone should be accessible through kmix setting as Mic or Front Mic. Another
great thing is that your bass speaker (tube) will be alive as well :)

(Display Brightness) - kernel module acer_wmi has been loaded automatically by default, but
functional keys for brightness regulation are not working directly. (this was problem in the Mandriva Linux release 2010.0 in 2010.1 working fine
through functional keys)

Small trick for adjusting brightness:

1. Firstly try to adjust your brightness by main function key (blue Fn) + functional key for brightness (do not worry you will not see an effect immediately :)
2. To see changed brightness you will have to use main functional key (blue Fn) + functional key for screen switching

SSD card - Is mounted only if linux starts with SSD card (not dynamically detected letter on) I have not looked at that in more details.

WLAN card - working fine after downloading firmware from Intel (tested WPA-PSK with wpa_supplicant-0.6.10-4mdv2010.1)

#ls /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-*
/lib/firmware/iwlwifi-1000-3.ucode /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-4965-2.ucode /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-5000-2.ucode
/lib/firmware/iwlwifi-4965-1.ucode /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-5000-1.ucode /lib/firmware/iwlwifi-5150-2.ucode

kernel module:
iwlagn

NOT tested:

Blue Tooth
HDMI output
56 Kb modem
