I have the Acer Aspire v5-571G. The ethernet is not detected though I have tried so hard.

I have the Acer Aspire v5-571G
the brightness is not working. everything else runs perfectly
this bug has been logged in ubuntu bug tracker site with this model

HDMI out works (select in system preference pane), Wi-Fi works stable under Ubuntu from 12.10 on (flawless with stable VPN in 13.04), Webcam works in Ubuntu 13.04 (in Skype), Card reader does probably not work (tested with microSD in Adapter)

I have the Acer Aspire v5-571-6467 purchased in 2012. I tested the system with Ubuntu 12.10. The system works very well. The only problem I have come across is that when my finger is touching the button on the track pad I cannot move the mouse. This happens because the mouse button is part of the track pad surface. The multi touch doesn't work as well. This has not been a majour problem for me. Also, the brightness control doesn't work. Outside of that all seems to work well.
