Notes

09 August 2010
I used an external usb CD-DVD drive to install Fedora FC13 with net-install CD.
The disk of this netbook is 160 Gb but there are 2 partitions : sda1 and sda2. sda2 is bootable and contains this stupid Windows XP. If using tools you change flags to make sda1 bootable, the boot on sda1 launches a recovery procedure to “reinstall” XP on sda2.
You can safely destroy sda2 even if you want Windows XP. you have just to create small (smaller) partition (at least 15Gb for windows, and boot on sda1. This avoid the use of resizing tools.. even if it's said that they work well.
I was surprised to see that all works perfectly “out of the box”… I was expecting to have more work in order to make this netbook to work. Maybe all is too easy nowadays… I remember when installing slackware in 90's I was able to play weeks trying things to make computer works ;-)

Summary

Works perfectly with Fedora 13.
The only problem was to discover how to recover windows in case of problem (because if you see that it doesn't work under linux, better to have a spare wheel). If I have to do new installation, I will remove totally windows.

Hi, do the microphone and webcam work well in Fedora and Windows?
