Notes

To use ACPI you will have to update the laptop's BIOS the latest (1.17).

Summary

Acer TravelMate 5520 has been tested with Ubuntu 8.10, it appears to be fully functional aslong as you if you first update the BIOS to 1.17 for the ACPI.

I have an Acer, a very old one, and I was say, they are like shell laptops, don't come with much propriety software, but they do run very efficiently, very similar to Dell computers.
