this laptop and ubuntu, or debian work fine.. gigabit lan show “100mbit” no “1000mbit”, but downloading approximately 40MBytes/s..
Everything works fine.. all work after clean install (Lan, WiFi, Webcam,.. ), graphics later install closed driver.
This laptop has terrible issues with graphics and ethernet. On Fedora 10 you have no Ethernet connection at all and on Ubuntu you have 90% packetloss.
Lots of crashes with screen, my colleague has allso multiple crashes a day with vista. Everything inside is tied together with a SiS chipset. Trust me, avoid SiS whenever you can!
Could be me, but out of the box I had wireless (with madwifi package) but can't get it faster then 1 Mbit.
Try Fedora 11 - Worked out of the box, Ethernet, wireless, etc. Known (Fedora 11) issue of screen blank on occasions, but otherwise all good.
